What to Wear for Winter Family Photoshoots (Client Closet Favourites)
Winter sessions feel slower, softer, and more connected — and what you wear should reflect that.
I always remind my mums that outfits don’t need to be expensive or overthought. They just need to feel cosy, comfortable, and like you.
Inside my client closet, I’ve curated a few simple pieces that photograph beautifully in winter light. Long beige linen skirts, soft textured fabrics, and flowing dresses that move gently and don’t feel forced. They’re designed to be layered, worn simply, and styled in a way that feels natural.
One of my favourite ways to style winter sessions is by adding a knitted jumper over the top of a dress or skirt. It creates warmth, softness, and that relaxed, effortless look that feels like real life — just held a little more intentionally.
The magic is in the layering. Linen with knit. Soft textures against skin. Pieces that move when you walk and wrap around you when you hold your babies close.
You don’t need to go out and buy something new. The most beautiful outfits are often the simplest ones — the ones that let you focus on connection, not what you’re wearing.
If you feel unsure, I’ll always guide you. You don’t need to have it all figured out before your session.
